Have you heard of the Japanese word, “Koinobori”? It’s carp-shaped streamers.We, Japanese, hang them up on Children’s day, May 5th. Parents display “Koinobori” hoping that their children will grow up healthy and strong. Here is a movie to show you how to make a “Koinobori” easily.

The following lists are what you need to start to make the craft. Almost all of them are usually sold in a hundred-yen store in Japan. Here is the item names in English(Japanese).

・stapler(hocchikisu)

・drawing paper(gayoushi)

・a case of eggs(tamago pakku)

・origami

 

If you make this with your children, please be careful not to hurt by staples. The movie recommends you to attach some scotch tape on them for protection.
