To start with, you need to get the materials ready. The following lists are what you need. They are usually sold in a hundred-yen store in Japan. Here is the item names in both Japanese and English.
・gayoushi(drawing papers) : midori(green),kiiro(yellow),aka(red)
・origami
・chiyogami(Japanese paper with colored figures)
・mooru(pipe cleaner)
・shinbunshi(newspaper)
・hasami(scissors)
・ryoumenteep(double-sided tape)
・serohanteep(scotch tape)
・katanuki(die cutting)
In the old days, it was thought that a god inhabited the treetop, so it seems that Kadomatu is a decoration for welcoming Toshigami(God in shindo).
